‘Methu’ (meaning ‘escape’ in Javanese) is a short graphic novel I illustrated and authored, conceived as supplemental reading to an essential book titled ‘Perempuan-perempuan Perkasa’ (“Mighty Women in Java, 18-19th centuries”) by Peter Carey and Vincent Houben.
